Minimum 6 months Paraprofessional or Special Education experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
Step into a meaningful contract opportunity supporting a high school student on a 1:1 basis as a Paraprofessional. Your ability to build rapport, maintain a calm demeanor, and apply effective behavioral management strategies will be instrumental in guiding a student who displays challenging behaviors and occasional aggression. This assignment places you at the heart of student support, ensuring a safe, structured, and positive school experience.
Key Qualifications:
- Experience working as a Paraprofessional in a school setting
- Demonstrated success supporting students exhibiting behavioral challenges or aggressive tendencies
- Familiarity with behavioral management and de-escalation techniques
- Patience, resilience, and the capacity to remain composed in dynamic situations
- Ability to follow education plans and communicate effectively with staff, students, and families
- High school diploma or equivalent required; related credentials or training preferred
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide attentive, individualized support to a high school student throughout the school day
- Implement and reinforce behavioral management strategies as outlined by the educational team
- Help facilitate academic engagement, redirection, and the development of positive routines
- Document student progress and behaviors
- Collaborate with teachers, specialists, and support staff to adapt interventions and ensure student success
- Maintain professional boundaries and uphold confidentiality at all times
