The unit manages a high-acuity patient population including strokes (ischemic, hemorrhagic [SAH]), SDH, craniotomies, carotid stents, carotid endarterectomies, aneurysm coiling/clipping, seizures, depth electrodes, and myasthenia gravis. Drains in use include EVDs, LDs, hemovacs, and Camino (ICP monitoring). This is a comprehensive stroke center, and stroke patients represent one of the largest patient populations on the unit.
