Value Dry Waterproofing is looking for a warm, energetic and community-focused Junior Business Development Specialist to help strengthen our existing referral partnerships and develop new professional relationships in Maryland and Washington, DC.

This is not a high-pressure sales position. It is a relationship-driven role for someone who genuinely enjoys meeting people, connecting businesses and representing a trusted company in the community. The ideal candidate is enthusiastic, hardworking, highly trainable and comfortable working independently in the field.

This is a primarily remote, field-based position. The employee will work from home when not attending networking events, partner meetings, presentations or community activities. Regular local travel is required, along with occasional visits to our Odenton, Maryland office.

Responsibilities include:

• Represent Value Dry at networking groups, chambers of commerce, industry associations, ribbon cuttings and community events.
• Develop relationships with restoration companies, plumbers, real estate professionals, home inspectors, contractors, property managers and other home-service professionals.
• Manage and grow existing referral partnerships through regular communication, office visits, one-to-one meetings, introductions and thoughtful follow-up.
• Identify new partnership opportunities through referrals, community involvement, prospecting and consistent field activity.
• Plan and attend partner events, educational presentations, lunch-and-learns and office visits.
• Serve as a trusted connector by helping customers and partners find reputable resources for needs outside Value Dry’s scope of work.
• Recognize potential basement waterproofing, crawlspace, foundation, sump pump and system-maintenance needs.
• Maintain accurate partner, prospect, referral and follow-up information in the company’s CRM.
• Collaborate with sales, marketing, operations, scheduling and leadership to support our partners and customers.
• Assist with partner communications, presentations, social media content and community-focused marketing campaigns.
• Attend occasional early-morning, evening or weekend events based on business and community needs.

Value Dry helps homeowners protect their properties through basement waterproofing, crawlspace encapsulation, foundation repair, sump pump systems and related services. Our goal is to provide peace of mind through dry, healthy homes and an exceptional customer experience.

• Experience in business development, relationship management, community engagement, hospitality, recruiting, events, home services, nonprofit work or another people-centered role is preferred.
• Genuine enthusiasm for meeting, helping and connecting people.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Confidence starting conversations, making introductions and speaking to small or large groups.
• Excellent organization, dependability and follow-through.
• Ability to manage a changing calendar, multiple relationships and competing priorities.
• Comfortable working independently in the field while remaining accountable and connected to the internal team.
• Willingness and ability to learn Value Dry’s services and communicate them accurately without using aggressive sales tactics.
• Comfortable using email, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, social media and CRM technology. Salesforce experience is helpful but not required.
• Bachelor’s degree in business, communications, marketing or a related field is preferred; relevant professional and life experience will also be considered.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record required.
• Willingness to travel throughout Maryland and Washington, DC.
• Availability for occasional early-morning, evening and weekend events.
• Positive, energetic, coachable and eager to learn.
• Self-motivated, adaptable and able to remain consistent when schedules change or results take time to develop.
• Professional, approachable and able to build trust without coming across as overly sales-focused or transactional.
