Assistant Project Scientist Quantitative T cell signaling studies California Institute for Quantitative Biosciences (QB3) Position overview Position title: Assistant Project Scientist Salary range: The UC academic salary scales set the minimum pay determined by rank and step at appointment. See the following table(s) for the current salary scale(s) for this position: Salary Scale. The current full-time base salary range for this position is $76,700 - $97,600. "Off scale" salaries, which yield compensation that is higher than the published system-wide salary at the designated rank and step, are offered when necessary to meet competitive conditions. Percent time: 100% Anticipated start: Spring 2026 Position duration: Initial appointment is for one year with the possibility of renewal based on performance and funding availability. Position description The California Institute for Quantitative Biosciences (QB3) at the University of California, Berkeley seeks applications for an Assistant Project Scientist in the Groves Lab, in the area of T cell signaling studies. The PI lab develops quantitative methods to study T cell signal transduction, emphasizing quantitative single molecule imaging in living cells. In addition, we apply image analysis techniques and quantitative models for molecular signaling processes. The ASAP project is a highly collaborative effort consisting of a team of researchers located at UC Berkeley. Within UC Berkeley, the successful candidate will work with individuals from multiple departments, including molecular and cell biology, integrative biology, statistics, and the center for computational biology. perform quantitative single molecule imaging experiments on live, primary T cells develop and apply quantitative imaging analysis techniques to image data basic cloning and protein expression as needed to utilize the hybrid live cell-supported membrane system The position will keep detailed records of experiments performed, conclusions made, and communication of results orally and through lab notebook records. Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position. Qualifications Basic qualifications PhD (or equivalent international degree) or enrolled in a PhD degree program (or equivalent international degree) Preferred qualifications Experience with single molecule T cell signaling studies and condensate imaging.
