We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join a growing finance team in San Diego, California. This role will oversee core accounting operations, support an accurate and efficient close cycle, and strengthen processes across payables, payroll, and intercompany activity. The ideal candidate brings strong technical accounting expertise, sound judgment, and a process-minded approach to improving reporting and controls.

Responsibilities:
• Direct accounting for operating expenditures and cost of revenue, ensuring transactions are recorded accurately and in the proper period.
• Prepare, analyze, and approve journal entries, accruals, and balance sheet reconciliations as part of the monthly, quarterly, and annual close cycle.
• Administer accounting for prepaid assets, fixed assets, depreciation, leases, and accrued obligations while maintaining complete supporting records.
• Oversee the full procure-to-pay workflow, including vendor setup, invoice processing, payment coordination, and enhancement of approval procedures through automation tools.
• Partner with FP& A and finance leadership to explain budget-versus-actual results and contribute to management reporting deliverables.
• Manage payroll accounting activities by recording payroll entries, reconciling liabilities, maintaining allocation logic, and improving visibility into labor-related costs.
• Handle intercompany accounting across multiple entities, including invoicing, allocations, settlements, reconciliations, and foreign currency-related entries.
• Support accounting systems optimization by participating in data migration, testing, documentation, workflow design, and internal control improvements.
• Prepare audit schedules and supporting documentation, respond to external audit requests, and help maintain readiness across assigned accounting areas.• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
• At least 3-5 years of progressive accounting experience in roles with increasing responsibility.
• Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and hands-on experience managing month-end close activities.
• Demonstrated ability to perform accrual accounting, account reconciliations, financial reporting, and balance sheet analysis.
• Experience supporting accounts payable, payroll-related accounting, and intercompany transactions.
• Advanced proficiency in Excel and familiarity with financial systems, including NetSuite.
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple deadlines effectively.
