Beam Global Accounting Position

Beam Global, a clean technology innovator which develops and manufactures sustainable infrastructure products and technologies for electric vehicle (EV) charging, energy storage, energy security and outdoor media, is looking for a hands-on self-starter in our San Diego headquarters. This is a full-time, exempt, on-site position. The position will report to the Controller. This role offers a defined path to promotion to Accounting Manager based on performance and demonstrated readiness to take on expanded responsibilities.

Core Responsibilities

• Financial Reporting & Analysis: Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial statements (balance sheets, P&L, cash flow). Lead the month-end closing procedures, ensuring all transactions are recorded in a timely and accurate manner. Analyze variances between actual results and budgets/forecasts.
• SEC Reporting Support: Assist in the preparation of supporting schedules and tie-out workpapers for quarterly (10-Q) and annual (10-K) SEC filings, including financial statement support and footnote disclosures.
• General Ledger Management: Maintain the integrity of accounting data by verifying, allocating, and posting journal entries. Perform bank and account reconciliations.
• Cost Accounting: Perform cost accounting activities including margin analysis, inventory rolls, overhead allocation and absorption, excess and obsolete reserves, and monthly physical inventory counts.
• Audit & Compliance: Coordinate with external auditors and prepare necessary workpapers and schedules. Ensure adherence to internal controls and legal regulations.
• Taxation: Prepare sales and use tax calculations and filings. Coordinate with external tax team to prepare workpapers for federal and state tax filings.
• Payroll: Process bi-weekly payroll with ADP software as needed.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Sales, Production, and Engineering to support manufacturing schedules and cost control initiatives.
• Other duties as assigned.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.
• Experience: 3 to 6 years of progressive accounting experience with a strong understanding of US GAAP and internal controls. Experience in a manufacturing environment with cost accounting preferred. Experience working in a public company preferred.
• Technical Proficiency: Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, macros). Hands-on experience with large ERP accounting software, preferred NetSuite.
