Summary: The Senior Accountant is responsible for supporting the Finance team in maintaining accurate, timely, and complete financial records for the organization. This position plays a key role in the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes, including preparation and analysis of journal entries, account reconciliations, accruals, and supporting schedules. The Senior Accountant will take ownership of assigned accounting processes, investigate and explain financial variances, support financial reporting and consolidation activities, and help ensure compliance with accounting policies, internal controls, and SOX requirements. Duties and Responsibilities: Perform month-end close activities, including preparation of journal entries, account analyses, and reconciliations with supporting schedules to substantiate ledger balances, estimates, and other financial statement amounts. Involvement in various monthly accounting processes, including but not limited to revenue and cost of goods sold, promotional and operating expense credits, marketing activity, asset account review and reconciliation, and monthly accruals. Support monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting processes, including reporting support and file preparation, consolidation activities, and the SEC filing process. Research, analyze, and explain monthly operational account variances for areas of responsibility, providing meaningful operating expense analytics and identifying key drivers and trends. Strengthen and maintain a robust control environment by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing operational and SOX controls in accordance with corporate guidelines and governance standards; proactively identify and implement opportunities to enhance the control framework. Coordinate and support external audit activities on a quarterly and year-end basis, including preparation of schedules, documentation, and responses to auditor requests. Develop and enhance systems and processes for the accurate and efficient maintenance of financial records, leveraging current technologies and automation where appropriate. Support consolidation activities, including the review and reconciliation of intercompany balances and transactions with international divisions. Education/Experience/Skills: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting CPA license or CPA-eligible candidate pursuing the CPA license Early-career opportunity; accounting experience preferred but not required Proficient PC skills, particularly Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint Ability and willingness to learn and adapt to various financial and information systems Ability to work independently, prioritize multiple tasks, and meet established deadlines Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy Disclaimer: The salary for this role is $70,304.00 - $80,000.00. This is the range that we in good faith anticipate relying on when setting wages for this position. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and this range is only applicable for jobs to be performed in California.
