Engine Field Technician / Mechanic

Foley Equipment is the authorized Caterpillar dealer in Kansas and NW Missouri. Our Engine Field Technician is primarily responsible for troubleshooting, servicing, repairing and rebuilding diesel and compression gas engines in the field to provide an excellent customer experience. Must be willing to work overtime as required by fluctuating workloads and available for after‑hours calls as needed. Perform required DOT inspections to ensure service truck is in proper, safe working order. Create a work environment that is considerate of the customer’s needs. Travel is required for training and/or to assist at other locations and customers. Physical & Working Requirements Safely and repeatedly lift components weighing up to 115 pounds without assistance. Safely lift, carry, and lower components weighing up to 65 pounds without assistance. Frequent pushing, pulling, and carrying of heavy materials. Climbing on and off equipment and working at varying heights. Standing, bending, and working in physically demanding positions for extended periods. Safely operating tools and equipment. Ideal Candidate Basic mechanical knowledge including electrical and hydraulics. Must have a valid driver’s license. General knowledge of basic hand tools, air tools, precision measuring tools and instruments. Must be able to read and comprehend specifications, service and parts literature, technical bulletins, schematics, line diagrams and other related publications. Ability to drive and valid license required with ability to obtain CDL. Experience with all makes and models of engine rebuilds. Stable work history. Comfortable operating various types of equipment and implements, diagnostic tooling, various shop hand and electric tools and overhead hoists/cranes.
