Staff Accountant

ROLE OVERVIEW
We are seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join a growing client company in the Fresno area. In this role, you will support the accounting team with day-to-day financial operations, ensuring accuracy and compliance across all reporting functions. This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional looking to build their career in a dynamic and collaborative environment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Prepare and post journal entries, ensuring proper documentation and support
- Assist with month-end and year-end close processes, including account reconciliations
- Maintain the general ledger and investigate and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner
- Support accounts payable and accounts receivable functions as needed
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements and internal reports
- Reconcile bank statements and balance sheet accounts on a monthly basis
- Collaborate with senior accounting staff and respond to internal and external audit requests
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required
- 1-3 years of accounting experience preferred; recent graduates with internship experience encouraged to apply
- Solid understanding of GAAP principles and general ledger functions
- Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, or similar platforms
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel
- Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to meet deadlines
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment
