Assistant General ManagerThe Billings Mustangs are a member of the Pioneer Baseball League, an MLB Professional Partner League. The Mustangs are the premier team in the PBL with 15 Championships, and they play at Dehler Park in Billings, Montana. Billings is the largest city in Montana with more than 122,000 residents and is located in the south-central part of the state along the Yellowstone River. The Mustangs are looking to hire an Assistant General Manager (AGM) with at least four years of professional sports experience. Our AGM will be tasked with helping run the day-to-day operations of the team and overseeing the organization's sales efforts. Our new AGM will be a key part of the executive team leading the Mustangs' front office.Compensation: Years of experience, skills, and other factors are considered when determining the salary offered. Total compensation and offer package will include the following:Medical, dental and vision benefitsEmployer 401K matchPaid time offJob Responsibilities:Increase revenue through ticket sales and corporate partnershipsManage ticket sales, employees, and systemsCommunicate with clientsCoordinate with multiple departments for execution of client needsEnsure that customer service and experience are top prioritiesEncourage and instill top level customer service in employeesCoordinate with Director of Finance on revenue reporting in managed departmentsConduct sales and marketing meetings and meet with sales staff on a one-on-one basisDevelop marketing and sales strategies for hospitality and game day ticketsLearn the strengths & weaknesses of each sales representative, and guide themTrack weekly, monthly, & annual salesEnsure our ballpark is clean and ready for all home games and special eventsOversee ballpark operations department's full-time staff, projects, and workflowAssist with ballpark operations department functions as required, including installation of ballpark signage and schedule part-time work for game-day employeesOther job duties include but are not limited to: Assist General Manager with team-related operations Oversee non-baseball events in relation to staff scheduling and execution Oversee the internship and host family program Represent organization at community and business events Assist other staff members with projects and/or event operations, including tarp pulls Assist in sales and execution of field rental events and other non-baseball events Oversee the execution of sales-related functions of food & beverageTechnology Skills: Google Workspace or Office Suite-Microsoft Office Glitnir Ticketing & CRM System or similar software Knowledge of Square Point of Sale or similar POS systemOther Skills: Multi-tasking and have flexibility in terms of daily schedule Extensive internal and external communication Direct external conversation to connect client needs with organization's opportunities Negotiations Digital marketing, sales and marketingAbilities: Time management Leadership (giving direction and leading by example) Outgoing personality (willing to talk to people without having spoken to them before) Willingness to learn about the community's major players and events Attention to detail with a high stress toleranceWork Activities: Creating revenue Supervising staff Communicating with external and internal contacts Executing client needsContext: 40 hours/week in the off-season; 70-80 hours per week during the baseball season High levels of communication Working indoors at the ballpark for most office hours Outside in the elements for games Fast-paced environment with ability to think quickly and communicate effectively Strong organization skills to handle needs of clients and complete tasksThe Billings Mustangs baseball club is an equal opportunity employer.
