About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Intensive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 3 years in Critical Care preferred License: Valid state license required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS required Must-Have: Strong neuro experience (post-neurosurgical, EVD, and stroke), proficiency in Epic Description: Chesapeake offers a beautiful environment in Coastal Virginia. It is located minutes away from Virginia Beach and Norfolk. Chesapeake is perfect for outdoor enthusiasts with trails for all levels and over 20 waterways to explore. Candidates must have strong neuro experience. No license or background hits will be considered. Candidates should be willing to float to different units including Stepdown and MedSurg as needed. Skills required include experience with vents, IV drip titration, telemetry monitoring, conscious sedation, and emergency management. Patient populations will include neurosurgical, post-stroke, respiratory failure, renal failure, post-surgical, trauma, sepsis, and heart failure. Candidates must be proficient in Epic and possess the required certifications. Fit testing for EKG is necessary for specific units. All candidates should be prepared for assessments related to rhythm identification and interpretation.
