About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: ICU Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 3 years in Critical Care preferred; strong candidates with less experience may be considered. License: Current VA or compact license required. Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS required. Must-Have: Strong neuro experience (post-neurosurgical, EVD, stroke). Description: This position is located in a beautiful region known for its outdoor activities and natural scenery. Candidates must have strong neuro experience, which includes care for post-neurosurgical patients, management of external ventricular drains and stroke patients. Experience with ventilators, IV drip titration, telemetry monitoring, and emergency management is also required. Flexibility to float to stepdown units, ED, and MedSurg to care for ICU patients is necessary. Ideal candidates will be proficient in EPIC, and will have experience in critical care and travel nursing. Patient populations include neurosurgical and post-stroke patients, individuals with respiratory failure, renal failure, post-surgical needs, trauma, sepsis and MODS, and heart failure. The ability to manage a range of conditions and procedures, including arterial lines, central lines, and dysrhythmias, is essential. Candidates must demonstrate excellent critical thinking skills and be proficient in interpreting EKGs. The facility may have specific requirements and standards for fit testing and rhythm interpretation testing for critical care roles. Modules may be required before starting this position. The role includes working weekends and holidays as required and available shifts will vary.
