Customer Care Specialist

Are you a compassionate customer service professional who wants to make a real difference for families in need? We are looking for empathetic problem solvers to serve as the front line of support for the Summer EBT program, helping parents access essential food benefits for their children during the summer months.

In this rewarding, 100% remote role, you will take inbound calls to assist families with application statuses, answer questions regarding program guidelines, and accurately log details into call tracking systems. Working a consistent Monday through Friday daytime schedule (8:30 AM to 5:00 PM) from your home office, you will help navigate difficult situations with patience, clarity, and respect.

Responsibilities

Position Summary:

Answer inbound calls from consumers to provide accurate information on Summer EBT applications, document interactions, and assist families in securing food benefits.

Key Responsibilities:

• Respond to incoming inquiries regarding application status and program policies.

• Document call details accurately in the designated database tracking software.

• De-escalate challenging consumer calls with empathy, patience, and professionalism.

• Escalate complex issues or technical system errors to leadership following standard procedures.

Requirements:

• High School Diploma required; Associate's degree preferred.

• 6+ months of call center support experience (Medicaid, CHIP, or public human services experience is a plus).

• Typing speed of at least 35 WPM with high data entry accuracy.

• Dedicated remote workspace with reliable computer equipment.
