Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Education, Special Education, or Visual Impairments, active Teacher of the Visually Impaired certification and 1+ years Teacher of the Visually Impaired experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Empower students and make a meaningful impact as a teacher for the visually impaired in a supportive school environment. This full-time, onsite opportunity spans the upcoming academic year, providing critical educational support to students with visual impairments. Collaborate with faculty and staff to design and implement effective instructional plans, and help foster independence in students through adapted teaching techniques and accessible learning materials.

Key Qualifications:

• Certification as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI)
• Experience teaching visually impaired students in a school setting
• Thorough understanding of Braille, assistive technology, and accessible instructional strategies
• Strong communication skills with students, families, and interdisciplinary teams
• Ability to adapt lessons and materials to individualized education plans (IEPs)
• Compassionate, patient, and dedicated to student success

Responsibilities Include:

• Deliver direct instruction to students with visual impairments, utilizing a wide range of resources and technologies
• Assess students’ educational needs and track progress toward individualized goals
• Collaborate with classroom teachers, therapists, and support personnel to ensure integrated learning experiences
• Develop, modify, and implement IEPs tailored to each student’s needs
• Provide training in orientation, mobility, and daily living skills as needed
• Communicate regularly with parents/guardians and participate in IEP meetings
• Maintain accurate records and documentation
