Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough assessments of students to identify mental health needs, strengths, and challenges.
• Develop and implement personalized treatment plans that align with evidence-based practices for mental health therapy.
• Provide individual therapy sessions tailored to the unique needs of students, utilizing appropriate modalities such as cognitive-behavioral therapy or trauma-informed approaches.
• Set therapeutic goals in collaboration with clients and monitor their progress towards these objectives.
• Facilitate virtual therapy sessions to ensure access for students facing physical or logistical challenges.
• Maintain meticulous documentation of client interactions and treatment outcomes, ensuring compliance with ethical guidelines and best practices.
• Engage in ongoing professional development activities to stay current with the latest strategies and research in mental health counseling.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Your primary focus will be on school-aged children and adolescents, addressing a broad range of mental health issues including anxiety, depression, trauma, and behavioral concerns. Understanding the context of their environments—academic, social, and familial—is crucial for tailoring effective therapy sessions. Your empathetic approach will help to empower students to navigate their emotional and psychological challenges effectively.

Qualifications

• Possession of a current and valid state license as LCSW, LPCC, LMFT, or PsyD.
• A Master’s degree or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to foster a safe and trusting therapeutic relationship with clients.
• Empathetic and compassionate demeanor with a non-judgmental attitude.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills to manage caseload effectively.

Preferred Experience

While not mandatory, prior experience working with children and adolescents in a school setting is highly preferred. Familiarity with teletherapy technologies, psychological assessment tools, and treatment planning tailored for young clients will be advantageous.
