Start your journey with OBE and help us build the future. What You'll Get to Do The Production Manager is responsible for the planning, coordination, and execution of daily plant operations. This role requires a forward-thinking leader who understands the interdependencies across departments and is committed to building processes that are proactive, not reactive. The ideal candidate brings a strong foundation in lean manufacturing, a team-first approach, and the operational discipline to plan multiple weeks ahead. Key Responsibilities Direct and develop shift personnel through strategic labor deployment and ongoing performance accountability Build and maintain proactive production schedules, including inventory and hardware planning tied to custom order fulfillment Drive plant performance across core KPIs: safety, quality, responsiveness, cost, and people development Foster cross-functional collaboration to ensure alignment and continuity across all departments Maintain a culture of safety through proper equipment use, consistent training, and adherence to all incident reporting procedures Apply TPS/lean methodologies, including 5S, root cause analysis, and resource planning, to address operational challenges at their source Support long-term growth initiatives, including thermal composite door expansion and the integration of new fabrication processes What We're Looking For 5+ years of management experience in a manufacturing environment; background in metals, aluminum, doors, or related industries preferred Demonstrated ability to build and manage proactive production schedules (minimum two weeks out) Experience with hardware and inventory management in a custom or made-to-order production setting Working knowledge of TPS/lean concepts: 5S, root cause analysis, resource allocation, and production planning Proactive planner. Builds schedules designed to absorb disruption rather than respond to it. Cross-functional awareness. Understands the downstream impact of upstream decisions and communicates accordingly.
