Key Responsibilities\n

As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist at Alcentra Counseling, you will be responsible for the following:

• Conducting comprehensive assessments to determine clients’ needs and developing individualized treatment plans based on these evaluations.

• Facilitating face-to-face therapy sessions that cater to individuals, couples, and families, focusing on promoting effective communication and conflict resolution techniques.
\n
• Implementing evidence-based therapeutic practices such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and solution-focused therapy to achieve the best outcomes for clients.

• Providing crisis intervention and immediate support for clients experiencing acute distress, ensuring a safe and supportive environment.
\n
• Regularly collaborating with a multidisciplinary team, contributing to case reviews, treatment planning, and collective decision-making.
\n
• Maintaining accurate and timely documentation in accordance with New York state regulations, thereby ensuring compliance and quality in service delivery.

• Engaging in ongoing professional development through participation in case reviews, team meetings, and relevant training opportunities.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

You will primarily work with a diverse client population, including individuals struggling with mental health disorders, couples facing relationship challenges, and families seeking to improve interpersonal dynamics. Your role is crucial in guiding these clients towards healthier relationships and improved mental health outcomes.

Qualifications\n

To be successful in this role, candidates must meet the following qualifications:

• Valid and active LMFT license in New York, in good standing.

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Marriage and Family Therapy, Psychology, or a closely related field.

• A minimum of two years of clinical experience in an outpatient or mental health setting, demonstrating proficiency in therapeutic interventions.

• Exceptional communication skills coupled with a strong sense of empathy and collaboration.

Preferred Experience\n

While not mandatory, candidates with experience utilizing Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems and familiarity with an array of therapeutic modalities will have an advantage.
