PRIMARY FUNCTION: The Systems Analyst is responsible for the design, configuration, support, and continuous improvement of Workday Benefits solutions. This role serves as the primary Workday Benefits subject matter expert, partnering with Benefits, Human Resources, Payroll, Finance, and vendors to translate business requirements into scalable system solutions. The analyst supports end-to-end benefits administration including eligibility, enrollment, regulatory compliance, integrations, reporting, and ongoing optimization while ensuring data integrity, operational efficiency, and exceptional user experience. PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Translate business requirements into Workday Benefits solutions, functional specifications, and system configurations. Design, configure, maintain, and support Workday solutions with a primary focus on Benefits. Lead Benefits configuration and administration, including health, wellness, and voluntary plans, eligibility rules, event-driven processes, testing, and issue resolution. Configure and implement business process changes, eligibility rules, condition rules, and validation logic to support compliant, scalable, and efficient HR and Benefits processes. Serve as a subject matter expert for Workday Benefits, providing guidance on system capabilities, configuration options, and best practices. Partner with Shared Services Benefits, HR COEs, Payroll, Finance and vendors to identify business needs and deliver effective system solutions. Analyze system impacts, recommend solutions, and implement enhancements in response to business changes, regulatory requirements, and Workday releases. Analyze existing processes and identify opportunities to automate, simplify, and improve HR and Benefits operations through effective use of Workday functionality and system enhancements. Develop and execute test plans and support user acceptance testing (UAT) for system changes, enhancements, and new functionality. Troubleshoot and resolve system issues through research, testing, root cause analysis, and collaboration with cross-functional teams. Partner with the reporting team to design, build, and maintain complex reports, dashboards, and analytics supporting Benefits operations, compliance, Finance, and leadership decision-making. Configure and maintain benefit plans, packages, eligibility criteria, and supporting reference data to ensure data integrity and operational effectiveness. Lead or participate in project lifecycle activities, including requirements gathering, solution design, testing, implementation, and post-production support, while coordinating with internal teams and stakeholders. Support Workday release management by evaluating new functionality, assessing impacts, testing enhancements, and recommending configuration updates. Create and maintain system documentation, technical specifications, process flows, job aids, and reporting to improve operational visibility and end-user self-sufficiency. Monitor and communicate the status of system issues, enhancements, and project activities to stakeholders. Build effective working relationships with internal stakeholders and provide responsive customer support. Stay current on Workday functionality, Benefits regulations, and industry best practices to support continuous improvement. Ensure compliance with organizational policies, regulatory requirements, and benefits-related processes. Perform other duties as assigned. SCOPE, PURPOSE, AND FREQUENCY OF CONTACTS: Frequent contact and collaboration with all levels of the organization, including: Shared Services staff, HR and COEs, department managers, other caregivers, and software vendors DIRECTION/SUPERVISION OF OTHERS: None DIRECTION/SUPERVISION RECEIVED: Reports to the Manager for Human Resources Systems EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, Applied Mathematics or equivalent field. Experience may be substituted for education. 3-5 years of HRIS or Workday experience. 2+ years of Workday Benefits configuration and administration experience. Experience supporting Benefits Open Enrollment and annual HR programs Experience in managing project timelines, tasks and deliverables Experience working directly in or with the healthcare industry HCM configuration experience KNOWLEDGE, SKILL, AND ABILITY REQUIREMENTS: Strong knowledge of Workday Benefits, Core HCM, business processes, security, reporting, and related functionality. Experience configuring eligibility rules, benefit events, enrollment processes, and benefits integrations. Ability to analyze business requirements and translate them into technical solutions. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with experience performing root cause analysis. Knowledge of testing methodologies, including system, integration, and user acceptance testing. Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines. Ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Preferred: Workday Pro Benefits Certification Workday Pro HCM Core Certification Annual Compensation Range $81,078.40 - $129,750.40This pay rate/range represents ChristianaCare’s good faith and reasonable estimate of compensation at the time of posting. The actual salary within this range offered to a successful candidate will depend on individual factors including without limitation skills, relevant experience, and qualifications as they relate to specific job requirements.
