Inventory Control Clerk

• Stock Inconsistency Review:
  • Regularly review and analyze stock discrepancies.
  • Investigate the root cause of inconsistencies and take corrective actions.
• Return Material Management:
  • Collect return material from production.
  • Process and document returned materials accurately.
• Inventory Adjustments:
  • Make necessary adjustments to inventory records based on returned materials and discrepancies.
  • Ensure all adjustments are properly documented and authorized.
• Cycle Counts:
  • Conduct regular inventory cycle counts.
  • Reconcile counted inventory with system records and investigate any variances.

• Floor Inventory Counts:
  • Collaborate with supervisors to perform floor inventory counts.
  • Assist in resolving any issues identified during counts.

• Material Problem Solving:
  • Work with various departments to address and resolve material-related problems.
  • Implement solutions to prevent future occurrences.

• Department 5S Maintenance:
  • Maintain and promote the 5S methodology (Sort, Set in order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain) within the department.
  • Ensure a clean, organized, and efficient work environment.

• Variance Reduction:
  • Assist in identifying and reducing job material transaction variances.
  • Develop and implement strategies to minimize variances.

• Safety and Near Miss Reporting:
  • Report and document safety incidents and near misses.
  • Participate in safety meetings and initiatives to promote a safe working environment.

• Associate’s degree or equivalent. Previous quality experience may replace degree requirements.
• Stays abreast of appropriate or emerging quality initiatives and drives development and implementation of best practices.
• Experience with computerized inventory systems ERP required.
• Forklift operator certification preferred.

• Customer and Personal Service – Knowledge of principles and methods for providing customer service and personal services. This includes customer needs assessments, meeting quality standards and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
• Clerical – Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures, and systems such as word processing.
• Law and Government — Knowledge of laws, legal codes, court procedures, precedents, government regulations, executive orders, agency rules, and the democratic political process.
• Mathematics – Knowledge of arithmetic, algebra, and statistics.
• Quality - Knowledge of quality and statistical techniques, tools and processes, which maximize effectiveness and ensure appropriate application and analysis of data
• Production and Processing - Knowledge of wire/cable and/or plastics manufacturing processes including raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs and techniques which maximize effectiveness. Knowledge of Lean/Six-Sigma concepts is preferred

• Ability to see details at a close range.
• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Must be able to lift up to 54 pounds at times.
• Must be able to navigate warehouse and reach items both high and low.

Work Conditions:
Work is primarily indoors in a climate-controlled office and manufacturing area; noise level is quiet to moderate. Occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, vibration, and hazards.
