Description: Position/Specialty: PCU RN Ratios: 1:5. Note: On rare occasions, the ratio may flex to 1:6, and travelers will be expected to take the extra patients. Holiday shifts and charge RN assignments may be required as needed per unit. Weekend requirement: 8 weekend shifts in a 6-week schedule period, combination of Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Will clinician float within scope to meet facility needs? Yes, regular floating may be required between departments, units, and facilities as needed. Required skills include cardiac monitoring, emergency response, interpretation of dysrhythmias, IV therapy, phlebotomy, blood product administration, and central line care/management. Professional skills required include isolation precautions and wound care. Patient diagnoses include medical conditions related to pulmonary, wounds, urology, cardiology, neurology, and renal issues. Interdisciplinary support available from physical therapy, respiratory services, radiology, social services, and more. Daily census and patient age groups will vary from adolescents to geriatrics. Additional responsibilities may include management of specific medical interventions, such as feeding tube care and management, tracheostomy care, and management of dysrhythmias.
