IT Technician PositionWe have an exciting opportunity for a skilled IT Technician to join the Walbridge team. You will provide hands-on technical support at the job site, ensuring smooth operation of Windows-based systems and hardware. This is a great opportunity for an IT professional who is passionate about technology and customer support to learn and grow.You will work from the project location in New Carlisle, Indiana. In addition to your primary responsibilities there, you may also be asked to occasionally provide support to other Indiana locations.Key Responsibilities:Windows 11 Support - Provide Tier 1/2 technical support for Windows 11 systems, including troubleshooting OS issues, performance optimization, and user assistance.Hardware & Software Deployment - Stage, configure, and deploy desktops, laptops, and peripheral devices. Install, update, and support standard business applications in accordance with IT policies.Onboarding & Workstation Setup - Prepare and provision user workstations for new hires, including account setup, system configuration, and ensuring readiness on day one.New Technology Support & Adoption - Support the implementation and adoption of new technologies, including evaluating emerging tools, assisting with pilot deployments, and helping users transition to new systems and solutions.Network Support - Assist with basic network setup and troubleshooting, including connectivity issues, VPN access, and wired/wireless network configurations.IT Recommendations & Asset Planning - Research and recommend hardware, software, and IT services to improve operational efficiency, performance, and security.User Training & Support - Deliver end-user training and guidance on technology tools, systems, and best practices to enhance productivity and reduce support incidents.Qualifications:Completed a minimum of high school diploma or equivalent, and technical training or professional experience3 years or more of commercial experience required in an IT support technician role supporting a Windows environment, via telephone and remote support toolsProficiency using Microsoft Office suite and Windows operating system softwareExperience steadfastly documenting all works performed in the ticketing systemUser data transfer to new laptopsThorough understanding of hardware technical specifications and general network experienceDemonstrated ability to multi-task and deal with multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environmentAbility and willingness to learn new skills quicklyAbility to safely lift up to 40 poundsAble to frequently work beyond 40 hours per week.Able to travel out of state, sometimes with short notice, and stay overnight as neededAble to train in Detroit, Michigan for 2-3 weeksValid driver's license requiredIdeally, you'll also have:CompTIA A+ certificationNetworking knowledge, including router/firewall configuration and managementDirect end-user support experienceEEO/AA Employer M/F/D/VWalbridge is an equal opportunity employer with a culture that promotes diversity, equity, and inclusion in the workforce.
