Reliability Engineer II

Abbott Diabetes Care seeks a Reliability Engineer II to investigate product failures, lead improvement projects, and maintain quality standards for diabetes management devices. Based in Alameda, California, this position requires a technical degree or five years of equivalent product engineering experience.
Responsibilities
- Conduct detailed failure analysis on returned diabetes care products including hardware and software
- Lead medium-sized projects using project management methodologies for timely completion
- Collaborate across functional teams to address recurring reliability issues in hardware and software
- Execute sustaining activities including process improvements, tooling updates, and software enhancements
- Document reliability issues and performance measures for management review and provide technical guidance
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in electrical, mechanical, software engineering, statistics, or mathematics
- Five years product engineering experience, preferably in medical device industry
- Product failure analysis, hardware/software integration, and reliability investigation expertise
- CAPA support and nonconforming product/procedure investigation experience
- Embedded systems and electrical design principles knowledge
- Project management and organizational skills with deadline management ability
- Technical writing and presentation skills for investigation reports and stakeholder communication
Compensation: $81,500–$141,300 base
