Accounting Manager

A well-established distribution company in Commerce, CA, is seeking an Accounting Manager to join its management team. This person will lead day-to-day accounting and office operations, strengthen internal controls, and improve existing processes. The ideal candidate is a hands-on manager and strong communicator who can work well with every team in the business. In addition to its strong culture, the company offers a clear path to Controller as it grows. This is a fully onsite position. Responsibilities: Lead the month-end close and prepare accurate, timely financial statements Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll, along with HR-related financial and administrative responsibilities Monitor cash flow, expenses, and profitability, and strengthen internal controls and accounting processes Make sure monthly and quarterly sales tax payments are made on time and that business licenses, insurance, and certifications stay current Serve as the main contact for the outside CPA on month-end, year-end, sales tax, and other accounting matters Track vendor rebates and co-op marketing funds Work with the IT consultant and ERP help desk to resolve issues, make improvements, and build custom reports Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field 5–10 years of accounting or finance experience, including oversight of AP, AR, general ledger, payroll, and financial reporting Proven management experience and strong communication skills, with the ability to work with all departments Wholesale distribution, supply chain, or inventory-heavy industry experience is a plus Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word and the ability to learn new systems quickly; experience with a distribution ERP system is a plus Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment About Us Premier Financial Search is recognized for consistently connecting highly qualified candidates with leading firms.
