CONSTRUCTION TECHNOLOGY-CE/VOC: Adjunct / Substitute Instructor POOL (non-credit) Classification Title: CONSTRUCTION TECHNOLOGY-CE/VOC: Adjunct / Substitute Instructor POOL (non-credit) Working Title: Adjunct Faculty Location: District Wide Pay Information: Salary determined by official transcripts; initial placement at first class step until transcripts received. FLSA Status: Exempt (does not accrue overtime) Position Type: Adjunct Bargaining Unit: AFT/Continuing Education Faculty Department: District Wide Position Overview: Part‑time adjunct or substitute instructor teaching construction technology courses. Candidates are added to a pool for future assignments on a semesterly basis. Major Responsibilities Develop and deliver instruction in lecture and lab settings according to curriculum and course outlines. Be available to students for academic support outside of class. Maintain professional conduct and ethics. Stay current on subject matter knowledge. Fulfill all professional responsibilities of a part‑time faculty member. Teach all scheduled classes and maintain accurate records. Create a learning environment that encourages discussion of ideas and interests. Minimum Qualifications A Bachelor’s degree AND two (2) years of occupational experience related to the course subject, or an Associate degree AND six (6) years of occupational experience, or an equivalent combination. Demonstrated cultural competency and sensitivity to diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds. Full‑time, clear California Designated Subjects Adult Education Teaching Credential authorizing instruction in Building and Construction Trades (or equivalent).
