Staff Accountant

About the Staff Accountant opening Reporting directly to the company's Controller, you will support the general accounting functions of JP Donovan Construction and related subsidiaries. Tasks include reconciliation of balance sheet accounts, month-end closing, and managing other accounting duties. What you will do Support managers with reconciling weekly labor hours to appropriate job elements. Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual journal entries including supporting documentation. Support monthly close processes for all JP Donovan companies. Maintain reporting tools and support management with financial reports. Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations. Provide year-end support for accounting, which may include research and preparing schedules. Perform additional assignments, as directed by the Controller. How to Qualify Bachelor's degree in accounting, business or equivalent. 1-3 years accounting experience in construction or similar industry. Internship experience counts! Position is located on-site in the newly renovated office in Rockledge, Florida. Proficient communication, interpersonal, analytical, and organizational skills. Teachable and eager to learn. Works well with others. Maintains schedule, deadlines, and responds well to changes in priorities. Self-management and time-management skills. Ability to work with limited supervision. Proficiency in standard accounting software and the ability to comprehend diverse corporate software packages, as well as standard office equipment. Systems: Foundations Software, SAP Concur, ECI, JobBoss, Microsoft Excel. Plus if you have experience in any of the above mentioned programs.
