Operations Coordinator
$20 per hourThe West End Museum
The West End Museum is looking for an Operations Coordinator to work with the Community Engagement Manager and Executive Director to maintain a strong team of volunteers and manage space rentals. Responsibilities Oversees the recruitment, vetting, and training of volunteers Maintains databases, forms, records, and other materials related to the volunteer program Attends volunteer fairs, and similar events Organizes the volunteer schedule for greeters and docents Periodically consults with department managers to ensure all volunteer positions are being filled Coordinates with the Community Engagement Manager to promote volunteer opportunities Rental Coordination Oversees the management of Peerspace and any other rental platforms Organizes site visits and answers potential renter’s questions Obtains any permits or similar requirements Coordinates day-of event logistics, or ensures another member of staff is prepared to do so General Assists the Executive Director with a small number of bookkeeping tasks Ensures store items and basic office supplies are in stock Participates in the general upkeep and operation of the museum as needed Qualifications Volunteer and event coordination Strong self-motivated work ethic, flexibility, and proven ability to work independently as well as collaboratively and constructively as a member of a small team Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills, including strong relationship skills and ability to work with a wide range of people Demonstrated ability to think strategically and long-term while successfully attending to more immediate goals and tasks An undergraduate degree or higher Creativity and emotional intelligence Interest in history, Boston, urban culture, the built environment, etc. is a plus Type Contract Compensation $20/hour Hours 15-20 hours/week not including rentals; when rentals are scheduled, up to 15 additional hours will be available to be on-site during those rentals.
