Software Development Engineer, Silicon Infra

Salary: $143,700 - 194,400 per year Requirements:

• We require 3 years of non-internship professional software development experience.
• We require 2 years of non-internship experience in system design or architecture, including design patterns, reliability, and scaling for new and existing systems.
• We require experience programming in at least one software programming language.
• We require 3 years of administrative experience with networking, storage systems, operating systems, and hands-on systems engineering.
• We require a solid understanding of systems engineering fundamentals, including networking, storage, and operating systems.
• We require experience with at least one modern programming language such as C++, C#, Java, Python, Golang, PowerShell, Ruby, or Rust.
• We require a bachelors degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or an equivalent background.

• We partner with silicon design, verification, emulation, and software teams to understand their workflows, pain points, and iteration cycles.
• We build tooling and automation that removes manual effort and shortens time to results.
• We collect ongoing feedback from internal customers and iterate quickly on solutions.
• We benchmark infrastructure against silicon development workflows to provide the right resources for chip development.
• We design, implement, and operate cloud infrastructure and high-performance computing clusters using schedulers such as Slurm.
• We build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure-as-code and service deployments, with thorough testing and safe rollback controls.
• We own platform reliability, performance, and cost efficiency from initial design through production operation.
• We develop monitoring, diagnostics, and alerting that provide insights into efficiency, utilization, reliability, and cost trends.
• We establish incident response practices, runbooks, and documentation to support operational excellence.
• We anticipate system failures and introduce preventive measures to reduce operational toil and improve resilience.
• We investigate anomalies in job completion rates and resource utilization.
• We collaborate with design verification teams to improve regression workflows and remove bottlenecks.
• We build tooling that simplifies infrastructure access for emulation teams.
• We contribute to monitoring dashboards that give teams real-time visibility into development velocity.
• We participate in design reviews and postmortems, write code, review infrastructure-as-code changes, and work across teams that depend on our systems.
