Physical Therapist

Under general supervision, provide for an educationally related physical assessment which includes student observation, records review, interview, standardized and/or non-standardized testing in areas of suspected disability. Write the assessment report according to specified guidelines. Develop long-term and short-term goals and objectives for the Individualized Education Program (IEP). Coordinate the implementation of those goals and objectives with the IEP team to provide integrated services. Develop an intervention plan that supports the IEP goals and objectives. Provide agreed upon physical therapy services addressing IEP goals and objectives. This is an itinerant position based in Bakersfield, CA.

Education and Credentials: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelors degree. Possession of a valid license to practice as a Licensed Registered Physical Therapist by the State of California Physical Therapy Board. Possess or secure within six (6) months of employment a certificate for first aid and CPR issued by the American Red Cross or equivalent. Experience: Minimum of one year of experience as a pediatric Physical Therapist preferred. Experience working with children, particularly in a public education setting preferred. Must possess a private vehicle, valid California driver's license and carry current automobile insurance with at least minimum coverage for public liability and property damage. Fingerprint clearance by both the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the California Department of Justice is a condition of appointment after all other required job conditions have been met.
