Step into a rewarding contract role as a Paraprofessional, supporting early elementary students in a collaborative school environment near Berkeley, CA. This full-time opportunity focuses on providing individualized assistance to a small caseload of 1-2 students in grades 1-3, offering you the chance to make a direct and meaningful impact each day.
Key Qualifications & Experience:
- Experience working as a Paraprofessional, preferably in an educational or school setting
- Understanding of childhood development and learning strategies for elementary-aged students
- Patience, empathy, and excellent interpersonal skills
- Ability to follow teacher plans and effectively implement accommodations or modifications
- Capable of maintaining confidentiality and professional boundaries
- Strong communication skills to consult with teachers, specialists, and families
Your Responsibilities:
- Provide dedicated support to one or two students throughout the school day
- Assist in academic activities, transitions, and daily routines—promoting engagement and success
- Implement individualized education or behavior plans as directed by supervising teachers or staff
- Encourage social-emotional development, reinforcing positive behaviors and problem-solving skills
- Document progress and observations, sharing insights with the educational team
- Collaborate regularly with teachers and other professionals to adjust strategies as needed
In this role, you’ll work closely with students at a formative stage and become an essential contributor to their learning journey. The contract is full-time and designed for someone passionate about fostering student growth in a supportive educational setting.
