Imaging Coordinator

Position Summary As a Diagnostic Imaging Coordinator at MASS LUNG & ALLERGY (MLA) this position performs a wide variety of duties and responsibilities with an emphasis on quality of care and customer service. The incumbent must work collaboratively with all staff in support of patient services, exhibiting flexibility and a "can‑do" attitude. Patient services are the key priority, requiring the Coordinator to serve as a point of contact with internal and external departments, fostering an environment that promotes patient comfort and trust. The position exemplifies the core values and mission of the organization, exercising discretion, diplomacy, and tact in patient and staff interactions. Duties and Responsibilities Schedule radiology, pulmonary function, and other imaging tests for Leominster, Marlborough, and Concord office providers (CT, MRI, PET/CT, Echo, Nuclear Stress, Pulmonary Function testing). Obtain prior authorization and/or referrals for all testing as needed. Facilitate requests for lab work required for specific testing. Contact patients to discuss testing appointments and provide instructions (e.g., medication instructions, directions). Assist with scheduling follow‑up appointments after testing. Provide patients with support and guidance as needed. Attend staff and medical meetings as required. Support successful implementation of EHR/EPM. Perform additional duties assigned by the Manager in support of quality assurance and improvement. Preferred/Required Qualifications Excellent communication and problem‑solving skills necessary for understanding provider and supervisor instructions and accurately documenting patient medical information. Beginner to intermediate computer and phone skills. Ability to multi‑task and work effectively in a high‑stress, fast‑moving environment. Culture sensitivity and demonstrated effectiveness working with ethnically diverse populations. Working knowledge of Universal Precautions and professionalism at all times. Thorough understanding of confidentiality and non‑disclosure per HIPAA standards. Bilingual English/Spanish and/or other languages preferred. Valid driver’s license, insurance, and ability to travel as required. Education and Experience High school graduate (or GED) required. Familiarity with the community/service area. Previous experience in a medical office setting highly desirable. Electronic medical records experience preferred. Previous experience with insurance and referrals preferred. #J-18808-Ljbffr
