This position focuses on providing dedicated PT services within a supportive school environment near Massapequa, NY. You’ll play an instrumental role in helping students reach their physical development goals and empowering them to participate fully in their educational experience.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Current licensure as a Physical Therapist in New York State (or eligibility to obtain)
- Proven experience delivering PT services in schools or pediatric settings highly preferred
- Solid grasp of IEPs, goal setting, and documentation requirements
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills with both staff and families
- Ability to adapt and tailor therapy strategies to accommodate each child's unique needs
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct and consultative PT services to students per IEP requirements
- Conduct thorough assessments and develop individualized intervention plans
- Work closely with educational teams to support students’ academic and physical development
- Maintain thorough, timely documentation in compliance with school and state guidelines
- Collaborate with teachers, assistants, and families to generalize skills beyond therapy sessions
- Foster a safe, positive, and supportive therapy environment
