Construction Estimator

Base pay range $90,000.00/yr - $110,000.00/yr We are working with a well-established General Contractor in Houston that specializes in ground-up commercial projects across K-12, Office, Healthcare, and Religious facilities. They are seeking an experienced Estimator to join their growing preconstruction team. Responsibilities Prepare accurate and detailed cost estimates for ground-up commercial projects. Perform quantity takeoffs, analyze labor, material, and time requirements. Review and interpret drawings, specifications, and contract documents. Develop subcontractor scopes of work and issue bid packages. Solicit, evaluate, and negotiate subcontractor and supplier quotes. Identify cost-saving opportunities, value engineering options, and potential risks. Assist with budget preparation, feasibility studies, and bid proposals. Maintain cost databases and historical pricing information. Work closely with Project Managers, Superintendents, and Owners throughout the preconstruction and bidding process. Ensure estimates are completed on time and in line with company standards. Requirements Minimum of 3 years’ experience estimating ground-up commercial projects (K-12, Office, Healthcare, Religious, or similar). Strong knowledge of construction means, methods, materials, and pricing. Proficiency with estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite. Excellent communication, organizational, and time management skills. Ability to work independently while also collaborating with project teams.
