Work Environment

This position is primarily onsite as part of our home care service, where you will work closely with families, ensuring that children receive the healthcare they need in their own homes. Key Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, compassionate care to pediatric patients, performing comprehensive assessments, diagnosing conditions, and developing tailored management plans.
• Conduct routine physical examinations, vaccinations, and developmental screenings, ensuring adherence to preventive care guidelines.
• Manage acute illnesses and ongoing chronic conditions, coordinating with family members to explain treatment options, care strategies, and follow-up needs.
• Perform necessary therapeutic procedures such as administering immunizations, conducting suture removals, and managing wound care and infections.
• Record detailed progress notes and maintain accurate medical records that support continuity of care across healthcare settings.
• Instruct patients and families on health maintenance, specialized care regimens, and address psychological, social, and physical health concerns.
• Actively participate in quality improvement initiatives, striving to enhance patient outcomes and satisfaction, while adhering to productivity standards set forth by senior management.
• Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary teams to review medical charts and discuss patient care approaches regularly.

Patient Population / Client Focus

In this role, you will primarily cater to pediatric patients from birth through young adulthood. You will develop a keen understanding of the specific needs of this demographic, addressing both physical health as well as the psychological and social aspects of growing up. Through tailored interventions, you’ll support not only the patients but also their families, fostering a comprehensive understanding of health and wellness.

Qualifications

• An accredited Nurse Practitioner educational program with a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing.
• A Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) is required for advanced clinical competence.
• Current licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) and Nurse Practitioner (NP) in the state of Texas.
• Successful completion of national board certification through recognized organizations such as the American Nurses Credentialing Center or the Pediatric Nursing Certification Board.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications, with a focus on pediatric care.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, showcasing your ability to work effectively within a team-oriented environment.

Preferred Experience

• Previous experience as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner, with a minimum of 2 years working in a similar role preferred.
• Proficiency in handling pediatric-specific medical interventions and procedures, paired with an understanding of family-centered care practices.
• Experience in home health settings is an advantage, showcasing the capability to deliver care in domestic environments.
