Vice President of Building Asset Management The Raleigh-Durham Airport Authority is seeking a Vice President of Building Asset Management. Reporting to the Chief Development Officer, the Vice President of Building Asset Management provides leadership for the planning, maintenance, renewal and long-term stewardship of all vertical assets across the airport campus, including buildings and critical building systems. This leadership role is responsible for ensuring that facilities remain safe, efficient, reliable and aligned with the airport’s operational and development objectives. The Vice President oversees significant capital and operating investments, directs building-related design and construction initiatives, and serves as a key advisor on infrastructure strategy. Through effective leadership, the position supports organizational growth, operational continuity, sustainability goals and exceptional service to airport stakeholders. Key responsibilities Lead the strategic rehabilitation, renewal and replacement of airport buildings and building systems. Oversee capital improvement programs and operating budgets supporting facility maintenance and modernization. Direct architectural, engineering, construction and procurement activities for building-related projects. Manage consultant and contractor services to ensure successful project planning, design and delivery. Evaluate and implement innovative technologies and energy management solutions that enhance operational performance. Represent the airport in engagements with airlines, tenants, government agencies and external stakeholders. Review project plans, specifications and technical requirements to ensure alignment with budget, schedule and organizational goals. Develop and administer contracts, agreements and partnerships supporting facility development and asset management. Lead and mentor professional staff while fostering collaboration, accountability and organizational excellence. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical or Structural) or Architecture; master’s degree preferred. Ten years of project management and design oversight experience in a commercial airport environment or similarly complex industry. Experience leading large-scale capital programs, facility renewal initiatives and multidisciplinary project teams. Professional Engineer (PE) or Registered Architect licensure preferred. LEED Accredited Professional (LEED AP) certification preferred. Salary & Benefits Anticipated Starting Salary: $148,267 - $230,000 The Raleigh-Durham Airport Authority maintains a structured compensation program designed to ensure consistency, fairness, and internal equity. The starting salary is determined through an objective review of education and directly related experience and is not subject to negotiation outside established compensation guidelines. The position’s full salary range exceeds the posted amount and offers opportunities for future salary growth and career progression with the Authority.
