Medical Front Office Administrative Assistant

We are currently seeking an experienced Administrative Assistant for our Front Office Team to support our Family Medicine Practice. The position requires excellent verbal and written communication, superior customer service skills, and a friendly personality. Compensation is hourly based and dependent upon experience. Principal Duties and Responsibilities

Welcome each patient, provider and various vendors upon arrival

Check patients in and out for their appointments

Collect updated demographics, insurance and outstanding payments 

Schedule appointments and verify insurance benefits and eligibility

Communicate with patients and other provider offices in a timely and professional manner 

Answer incoming phone calls and direct them accordingly or create phone encounters as needed

Assist in obtaining and/or communicating referral details to specialists, insurance companies and the patient

Provide excellent customer service

Maintain effective working relationships with other staff members

Keep work area and waiting area neat and tidy

Cover various other needs of the office when necessary

Adhere to patient confidentiality practices and the Personnel Policy guidelines

Experience

Experience with EMR systems; knowledge of eClinicalWorks is a plus

Effective verbal and written communication is required

Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus, but not required

We require a flexible schedule in order to ensure coverage for our front desk during business hours
