Job Opportunity – Neuroscience Intermediate Care RN – Virginia

Start Date: September 28, 2026

Location: Virginia

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: 13-week assignment | Day shift | 36 or 48 hours per week | 1:3 patient ratio | Every other weekend and every other holiday required | 24-hour orientation | Up to 40 hours approved time off per contract

Highlights:

• 12-bed specialized unit integrating critical care and neuroscience principles at the intermediate care level
• Diverse patient population including neuro trauma, intracranial hemorrhages, post-neurosurgical patients, ENT cancer resections with flap reconstruction, and spinal surgery patients
• Epic EMR system in use; previous Epic experience required
• Comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, physical therapy, pharmacy, rapid response teams, and more
• Float policy compliance required within scope of practice
• Virginia RN license may be pending at submission (must be active by Wednesday before start date)

Requirements:

• Current Virginia RN license (pending accepted with conditions)
• Minimum 2 years of recent neuroscience stepdown, progressive care, or intermediate care experience
• Active BLS and ACLS certifications required
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required
• Epic EMR charting experience mandatory
• Flu vaccination required (no exemptions); COVID-19 vaccination not required
• Experience with neuroscience patient populations, telemetry monitoring, vasoactive drip management, and lumbar/ventricular drain care preferred
• BSN degree preferred
