Chief Operating Officer

Segrera Associates is recruiting an Executive Vice President/Chief Operating Officer on behalf of a well-established community banking organization in the North Orlando, FL area. This is a key leadership opportunity with a stable, privately held financial institution and a highly tenured team. The EVP/COO will report directly to the President and oversee critical banking operations, regulatory compliance, audits, and organizational functions.

This role is fully on-site in Orlando, FL. Candidates must have banking experience and be located within a reasonable commuting distance of North Orlando or be willing to relocate for the opportunity. Limited relocation assistance is available for qualified candidates.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee daily loan and deposit operations and ensure efficient, compliant execution.
• Lead and develop a team of approximately 5–7 banking professionals.
• Oversee BSA/AML, regulatory compliance, internal controls, and operational risk.
• Coordinate internal audits, regulatory examinations, and related follow-up activities.
• Develop and maintain policies, procedures, and controls aligned with federal and state banking regulations.
• Monitor regulatory changes and ensure ongoing compliance across the organization.
• Provide hands-on leadership across loan operations, compliance, and other operational functions.
• Support HR initiatives including staffing, employee relations, performance management, compensation, and employee development.
• Prepare and present operational reporting to senior leadership and the Board of Directors.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes, controls, efficiency, and overall operational performance.

Qualifications & Experience:

• 8+ years of progressive banking experience with leadership responsibility.
• Banking experience is required; community banking experience strongly preferred.
• Experience overseeing at least two of the following: loan operations, deposit operations, BSA/AML, compliance, audits, or HR.
• Strong hands-on experience with loan operations and/or banking compliance.
• Experience working with regulators and supporting audits or regulatory examinations.
• Florida regulatory experience highly preferred.
• Proven leadership and team management experience within a banking environment.
• Strong understanding of banking regulations, internal controls, and operational risk.
• Ability to balance strategic leadership with a hands-on approach.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or a related field preferred.
