Pharmacy Assistant

We are looking for talented and experienced Pharmacy Assistants eager to join our fulfillment team with the opportunity to grow within a progressive organization. The Pharmacy Assistant will assist with packaging and shipping of drugs, supplies, and patient information according to company policies, procedures, and state board of pharmacy regulations.

Responsibilities

• Prepare medications for shipment ensuring the integrity, sterility, and stability of drugs and supplies.
• Follow all designated checklists with attention to detail.
• Coordinate the dissemination of information to patients via package inserts as approved by the manager.
• Review shipping manifests daily to confirm delivery address and delivery times.
• Work closely with the Pharmacy team to answer order-related questions, escalate potential issues, or revise package shipping details.
• Reconcile shipping supply packing slips with invoices and forward to the manager with appropriate notations.
• Reconcile carrier invoices with the shipping manifest for accuracy in billing.
• Provide weekly shipping abstracts and usage reports to the supervisor.
• Restock pharmacy medication and supplies, and rotate ice packs and coolers.
• Reset the shipping room at the end of each day to prepare for the next business day.
• Maintain and clean the packing area and pharmacy by disinfecting countertops and vacuuming.
• Maintain orderliness in the storage room and offsite storage unit.
• Lock and secure the pharmacy, storage room, study drug area, and packing room at the end of each business day.
• Handle the discarding of trash and cardboard and coordinate emptying times with a contractor.
• Lift, move, and manipulate boxes and packages weighing approximately 25 pounds.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Work Environment

Work onsite in the distribution center with a schedule from Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM. Every other Saturday, work is from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM, with a maximum 3-4 hour timeframe. Saturday work is flexible and often voluntary for anyone interested in overtime. If appointments occur during the week, time can be made up on Saturday to equal 40 hours per week. The team typically works until the work is finished, which may exceed 6 pm. Saturday volume is generally low and reserved for true emergencies, usually around 10 shipments. Having 3-4 people willing to work Saturdays is ideal. Saturdays are on a rolling schedule typically only once every 1.5-2 months.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Cary, NC.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr.
