Opportunity Details Lakewood Ranch Medical Center is proud to announce the development of a new Emergency Medicine Residency Program launching in July 2026. We are seeking an experienced Program Director to lead the ACGME application process and shape Emergency Medicine training on Florida’s West Coast. This role offers the opportunity to build a high-quality academic program while balancing administrative leadership and clinical practice. Quick Facts Program Director for a new Emergency Medicine residency Employment Type: Initially consulting, transitioning to 0.5 FTE leadership plus clinical practice Schedule / Hours: Part-time administrative leadership with clinical shifts Location: Lakewood Ranch, FL Benefits: Clinical practice may include benefits such as health, dental, life, disability, PTO, and retirement plans Responsibilities Lead the 2025 ACGME application and accreditation process for a new Emergency Medicine residency Build and develop the GME program infrastructure and curriculum Provide clinical care in the Emergency Department Facilitate resident education and mentoring Manage administrative, leadership, and operational duties required for program success Qualifications Board certified by ABEM or AOBEM Minimum 3 years recent educational and/or administrative experience in an ACGME-accredited program Prior Program Director or Associate Program Director experience strongly preferred Demonstrated leadership, organizational, and interpersonal communication skills Strong background in medical education, scholarly activity, and clinical excellence About the Organization & Community Lakewood Ranch Medical Center (LWRMC) is a Joint Commission-accredited, award-winning acute care hospital serving the region since 2004 with over 750 affiliated physicians and healthcare professionals.
