Schedule: 12-hour night shifts (18:45 - 07:15), 36 hours per week. Patient ratios of 5:1, occasionally 6:1. Weekend requirement of 3 weekends (6 total weekend shifts) every 6 weeks. Self-scheduling model balanced by leadership based on unit needs. No call required.

Highlights:

• Pulmonary-focused medical-surgical telemetry unit caring for patients with COPD, asthma, tracheostomies, chest tubes, and longer length of stay
• Assignment length of 13 weeks or more available
• Comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, physical therapy, pharmacy, rapid response teams, and more
• Epic charting system with Pyxis medication management and SBAR communication protocols
• 24-hour orientation provided with unit supporting first-time travelers
• Floating required as needed within the service line to support patient care needs

Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years of recent medical-surgical or telemetry nursing experience
• Active North Carolina or Compact state RN license
• Current certifications: BLS (BCLS) and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
• Demonstrated competency in interpretation and management of cardiac dysrhythmias (EKG testing required prior to start)
• Experience with Epic charting system required
• Proficiency in tracheostomy care, chest tube management, BiPAP/CPAP, non-invasive airway management, and telemetry monitoring
• Flu vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions only)
