Senior Accountant

Subterranean Boring Inc. is a pioneering leader in the raisebore contracting and manufacturing industry, established in 1980 and located in Golden, Colorado. We pride ourselves on innovation, integrity, and a steadfast commitment to excellence in everything we do. We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Accountant to oversee full-cycle accounting operations, month-end close processes, and financial reporting activities. The ideal candidate will have strong experience managing AP/AR functions, reconciliations, payroll, tax filings, and audit support while helping improve accounting workflows and financial accuracy.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage full-cycle accounting processes, including journal entries, accruals, allocations, reconciliations, and month-end close activities
• Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reports
• Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, including invoicing, collections, vendor payments, and expense tracking
• Perform reconciliations for bank accounts, credit cards, and balance sheet accounts to ensure financial accuracy and integrity
• Process payroll and manage employee expense reporting in compliance with company policies
• Prepare and file sales tax, use tax, excise tax, payroll tax, and other required filings
• Support external audits by preparing audit schedules and maintaining organized supporting documentation
• Respond to tax notices and assist with regulatory compliance requirements
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement efficiencies within accounting operations
• Collaborate with management to provide financial insights and reporting support

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required
• Multi-industry accounting experience preferred
• Strong understanding of GAAP and accounting best practices
• Experience with month-end close and financial reporting
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ERP/accounting software systems
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities

Benefits & Pay

• Full-time, On-Site, Monday to Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm
• Salary range of $90,000–$97,000, depending on experience
