Position Overview: As aCustomer Support Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring our fire station alerting systems run smoothly. This position requires strong Linux troubleshooting skills and exceptional customer-facing abilities, as you’ll be working directly with fire departments to resolve technical issues while providing outstanding support. This role involves a rotating on-call schedule. Key Responsibilities: Provide technical support for fire station alerting systems as well as our free mobile application. Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Linux systems, network configurations, and software applications. Collaborate with internal teams to escalate complex technical issues and facilitate timely resolutions. Communicate clearly with customers, guiding them through troubleshooting steps and technical solutions. De-escalate challenging situations with empathy and professionalism to maintain positive customer relationships. Document technical issues and resolutions to enhance our knowledge base and improve future support efforts. Participate in training sessions and contribute to team development initiatives. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience. Proven experience in technical support roles, preferably with a focus on Linux environments and networking. Excellent troubleshooting skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve Linux-related issues. Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with experience in customer-facing roles. Familiarity with conflict resolution and de-escalation techniques. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. Experience with ticketing systems and remote support tools is beneficial. Strong understanding and ability to troubleshoot low-voltage systems is a plus.
