Scheduling Coordinator
South Shore Hospital is looking for a Scheduling Coordinator to represent Central Wide Scheduling. The role involves answering live telephone calls professionally, accurately, and efficiently, providing exceptional customer service, and managing scheduling, insurance verification, and pre-authorizations.
Compensation Pay Range: $22.20 - $31.75
Job Requirements:
Minimum Education: Equivalent to high school curriculum preferred
Minimum Work Experience: Customer service experience required. Healthcare experience preferred.
Required additional Knowledge, and Abilities:
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced medical environment. Excellent spelling, communication, and grammar skills. Maintain the ability to multi-task and toggle between multiple screens seamlessly. Knowledge of typing/data entry (30 wpm), and working knowledge of Windows / Microsoft Office Suite. Medical Terminology knowledge preferred.
Essential Functions:
- Demonstrates knowledge of booking appointments for services at South Shore Hospital (SSH). Booking may be done with the patient, physician or physician staff and may be done by telephone or fax.
- Responsible for all pre-certification, eligibility and verification of benefits on all accounts.
- Can locate and identify the correct Provider utilizing Meditech.
- Technology Embraces technological solutions to work processes and practices.
- Safety Awareness Fosters a "Culture of Safety" through personal ownership and commitment to a safe environment.
- Customer Service
- Actively participates in Information Center Continuing Education programs
Unit / Department Specific Job Functions:
- Can schedule all Patients effectively and keeping within all Hospital standards
- Can effectively utilize the One Call system
- Can connect callers to appropriate calling destination efficiently
Physical Requirements:
General Activity - Frequent Standing/Walking Required, No Driving
Motion - No Motion requirements needed
Motor Skills - Use of hands required, Use of feet required
Weight/Force - No lifting required
Schedule: Monday through Friday 8:00-4:30
