Fairfax, Virginia Pay From: $18.00 per hour

MUST:

• Experienced Medical Assistant - Medical Receptionist
• 2 plus years of experience as a Medical Assistant
• Experience work on EMR; knowledge of Epic highly preferred
• Experience handling and conducting high amounts of calls
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Medical Assistant diploma or be certified/registered as a Medical Assistant or be willing to obtain
• Strong experience verifying insurance and handling prior authorizations
• Spanish and English speaking highly preferred

DUTIES:

• Medical Assistant - Medical Receptionist will be responsible for but not limited to the following:
• Triage patients
• Prepare medical records
• Room patients
• Provide clinical help
• Welcomes patients and visitors by greeting patients and visitors, in person or on the telephone; answering or referring inquiries
• Optimizes patients' satisfaction, provider time, and treatment room utilization by scheduling appointments in person or by telephone
• Keeps patient appointments on schedule by notifying provider of patient's arrival; reviewing service delivery compared to schedule; reminding provider of service delays
• Comforts patients by anticipating patients' anxieties; answering patients' questions; maintaining the reception area
• Ensures availability of treatment information by filing and retrieving patient records
• Maintains patient accounts by obtaining, recording, and updating personal and financial information
• Perform data entry and processing
• Schedule appointments
• Maintain medical records
