Quick Facts Location: Lafayette, LA Start Date: Approximately 03/21/2024 (or upon agreement) End Date/Duration: Ongoing/Temporary Shift: Flexible (Inpatient rounding, Clinic 1 day/week, Emergency Room call coverage) Hours/week: 40+ Employment Type: Locum/Full-Time License/Certs: Active LA state license preferred; Board certification required Experience: Prior APP experience in cardiovascular or thoracic surgery preferred Pay & Benefits Hourly Pay Rate: $1.00 per hour (Note: pay details to be discussed upon application) Benefits: Competitive pay package, malpractice insurance, scheduling flexibility, professional support, potential for ongoing opportunities What You’ll Do Perform inpatient rounds and manage postoperative patients in a cardiovascular surgery setting Conduct surgical consults and participate in emergency room call coverage Assist with procedures such as coronary artery bypass grafting, thoracotomies, lobectomies, and AAA repairs Support the surgical team in outpatient clinic sessions (1 day/week) Collaborate with surgeons and healthcare team to ensure quality patient care Maintain accurate documentation of patient encounters and procedures What You Need Active Louisiana state license as a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner Minimum of 2 years of experience in cardiovascular or thoracic surgery preferred Strong clinical skills in inpatient and outpatient care Ability to work independently and as part of a team Excellent communication and organizational skills About the Assignment Join a dynamic cardiovascular surgery team performing approximately 90 surgeries and procedures per month.
