Litigation Paralegal

Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Litigation Paralegal with experience in insurance defense to support attorneys in all phases of civil litigation. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of defense-side litigation procedures, including case management, discovery, and trial preparation.

Position Details:

• Salary: $80,000-$90,000
• Onsite position
• Direct Hire Opportunity

Key Responsibilities

• Assist attorneys with all aspects of insurance defense litigation from inception through trial and appeal
• Draft, proofread, and file legal documents, including pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and correspondence
• Manage case files, including organizing and maintaining electronic and physical documents
• Coordinate and track discovery, including document production, interrogatories, and requests for admission
• Prepare deposition summaries, medical summaries, and chronologies
• Schedule and coordinate depositions, mediations, hearings, and trial dates
• Communicate with clients, insurance adjusters, experts, and opposing counsel
• Maintain case calendars and ensure compliance with court deadlines and procedural rules
• Assist with trial preparation, including preparing exhibits, trial binders, and witness files
• Review and analyze medical records, billing records, and other claim-related documentation
• E-file documents in state and federal courts

Required Qualifications

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree; Paralegal certificate preferred
• 3+ years of litigation paralegal experience, with a focus on insurance defense
• Familiarity with state and federal court rules and procedures
• Experience handling high-volume caseloads
• Proficiency in legal research tools and case management software
• Strong knowledge of discovery processes and litigation timelines

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in areas such as personal injury defense, premises liability, or workers' compensation
• Familiarity with medical terminology and records review
• Trial experience supporting attorneys in courtroom settings
• Experience using e-filing systems (e.g., PACER, state-specific systems)
• Knowledge of billing software and time entry
