The organization delivers high-performance support platforms in mission-critical government and commercial environments. Description Of The Position Our Client is seeking a Purchasing Manager to oversee procurement, purchasing, and planning activities in support of company operations and federal defense contract requirements. This is a hands‑on leadership role responsible for supplier management, purchasing strategy, inventory controls, production planning support, and compliance with applicable FAR, DFARS, DoD, and internal contract requirements. Location Colorado Springs, CO Office Setting On‑site, full‑time Schedule 9/80 schedule with every other Friday off. Salary $140,000–$150,000 annually Benefits Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K with a match, life insurance, paid vacation, holidays and sick time. Client works a 9/80 work schedule with every other Friday off. Key Role Summary, Duties, And Requirements The Purchasing Manager will lead procurement and planning functions while ensuring cost‑effective, compliant, and timely acquisition of goods and services for defense‑related operations. This role includes developing purchasing strategies, managing supplier relationships, conducting vendor research, negotiating pricing and delivery schedules, supporting production planning, monitoring inventory controls, and partnering cross‑functionally with finance, operations, engineering, logistics, legal, and program management. Qualified candidates will have a bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Procurement, Operations, or a related field, along with 5–7 years of purchasing, procurement, or supply chain experience. At least 3 years of experience in a DoD, federal acquisition, or government contracting environment is required. Strong knowledge of FAR, DFARS, contract compliance, flow‑down requirements, supplier management, and procurement risk management is essential. Candidates must be U.S. citizens with no dual citizenship, willing to work on‑site, able to travel domestically 5–10% of the time to vendor sites, and able to pass education verification, a criminal background check, and a 10‑panel drug screening.
