Litigation Paralegal

Summary The Paralegal – Franchise performs substantive case, matter or entity‑related duties under attorney supervision, drafting legal documents, compiling and analyzing information, and coordinating with attorneys, clients, and outside counsel. Location Short Hills office, hybrid work schedule. Responsibilities Drafts simple pleadings and assists attorneys with major motions and filings. Performs cite‑checking, fact‑checking, Blue Booking, and Shepardizing of legal memoranda. Organizes documents for witness interviews, depositions, hearings, trials, or arbitrations. Reviews, organizes, and maintains document databases for case tracking, discovery, and document productions. Utilizes legal software such as Relativity and litigation technology including eDiscovery and data rooms. eFiles documents in State and Federal Courts and coordinates service of documents. Locates and reviews information applicable to a particular case via online research or document reviews. Assists in preparation of pretrial motions, trial binders, and trial exhibits. Assists attorneys at depositions, hearings, trials, or arbitrations. Manages data rooms and matter files. Works effectively in both home offices and across firm offices. Desired Skills Strong skills in Word, Excel, and Outlook. Experience with legal software such as Relativity, LexisNexis, Westlaw, or similar applications. Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills for daily interaction with staff, paralegals, attorneys, and clients. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail for handling large volumes of work associated with each matter. Ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced, high‑pressure environment. Minimum Education High School Diploma or GED. Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree and/or a Paralegal certificate. Minimum Years of Experience 1 year of paralegal experience for individuals with a bachelor’s degree and/or a paralegal certificate. Individuals without a degree or certification require five years of legal support experience in the specific practice area. Physical Demands Primarily sedentary work with occasional lifting up to 10 pounds. Requires prolonged computer usage and participation in virtual and in‑person meetings. Compensation The firm’s expected hiring range is $47.69 – $63.18 per hour, paid hourly with overtime for non‑exempt positions.
