Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct comprehensive initial consultations and ongoing assessments to gather essential information and understand the unique mental, behavioral, and emotional conditions of each client.

• Document evaluations and progress meticulously, ensuring compliance with clinical standards and regulatory requirements.

• Design and implement effective intervention and recovery plans tailored to the specific needs of individuals, couples, families, and groups.

• Facilitate both individual and group therapy sessions, using evidenced-based techniques and therapeutic methodologies to encourage active participation and engagement.

• Track and evaluate client progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary for optimal outcomes.

• Engage in collaborative care with a multidisciplinary team, including psychiatrists, nurses, and social workers, ensuring a holistic approach to each client’s treatment journey.

• Provide follow-up care coordination for clients who have been admitted to the hospital, ensuring smooth transitions back to outpatient support.

• Support family members and caregivers in understanding and managing clients’ behavioral health challenges, fostering a nurturing environment for recovery.

Qualifications\n

• Master's or doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Current licensure as an LMFT, LMHC, LCSW, or LCSW-R in New York State.
\n
• A passing score on the National Counselor Examination (NCE) and/or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).

• Demonstrated experience in a clinical setting as a mental health counselor, equipped with a strong foundation in therapeutic techniques.

• Proficiency in using electronic health records software, such as AVATAR, to manage client information and treatment documentation efficiently.

Preferred Experience\n

• Experience dealing with co-occurring disorders and complex cases involving physical and emotional health conditions.

• Familiarity with the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA) best practices and ethical guidelines.

• In-depth understanding of pharmacological treatments prescribed to clients by healthcare providers and their potential impacts on mental health.

Compensation and Benefits\n
