Accounting Coordinator

Accounting CoordinatorLowney Architecture is hiring an Accounting Coordinator to support our Accounting Team in our Oakland office. The Accounting Coordinator supports Lowney Architecture's financial and administrative operations by performing a wide range of accounting, project setup, and compliance tasks. This role is responsible for ensuring accurate financial reporting, timely invoicing and payments, proper contract documentation, and consistent adherence to internal controls. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable working with multiple systems, vendors, project managers, and clients.Key ResponsibilitiesPerform day-to-day accounting duties including accounts payable, accounts receivable, timesheet review, and expense report processingAssist with invoice preparation, review, and distributionPrepare journal entries and complete bank and credit card reconciliationsSupport month-end and year-end close activities and related financial reportsMaintain accounting databases, including project setup and updatesTrack and maintain accurate project and contract documentationCoordinate with project managers to ensure accurate billing and financial dataSupport compliance with internal controls and accounting proceduresAssist with audits and provide documentation as requestedProvide general administrative and accounting support as assignedQualifications Education:Bachelor's degree in Accounting preferredExperience:3+ years of accounting experienceExperience in an Architecture, Engineering, or Construction (AEC) environment strongly preferredSkills:Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and OutlookExperience with Deltek Ajera or similar accounting software preferredStrong attention to detail and organizational skillsAbility to communicate effectively with internal teams and external partnersTeam-oriented mindset with the ability to manage multiple prioritiesCompensation & BenefitsCompetitive salary based on experienceHealth, dental, and vision benefits401(k) with employer participationPaid time off and holidaysAbout Us Lowney Architecture is a mid-sized architecture firm dedicated to creating inspiring spaces, strengthening communities, and shaping a better future through thoughtful building design.
